2010 Election: The Republicans Can’t See The Forest For The Trees
By Victor Hatley on August 27, 2010, 8:15 amThe Republican party is in the process of counting its winnings before the final game is played. Yes, they are ahead in the polls, but this is because the Democrat party offers little. What is offered by the Republicans?
Republicans Are Neutral
The Republican party is neutral in that they oppose the Democrats. This is a plus, but it is not sufficient to bring them a certain victory in November. They have not shown their plan for the economy to the public. They are counting on people voting against the Democrat party. This will happen as a protest.
It simply will not give the Republicans sufficient strength to take control of both houses of Congress. It might give them the House of Representatives, but not much more. How can a constituency vote for a Party that offers little in the way of details in what they intend to do? The last time in power the Republicans were big spenders as well.
A Split Government
It might not be a bad idea for the government to be split between two parties. In this way nothing will be done. If nothing is done, little damage can be accomplished. The less the politicians do, the better it is for the nation. Most of them are only interested in getting re-elected and nothing else.
They should just enforce what they have on the books regarding the laws and add nothing else. After all, they had regulations in place to watch the banks that were never enforced. The American people want to be left alone. It is bad enough the government of both parties has thrown the economy into a tailspin that will take at least a decade to come out of.
