America & Tea Party Shakes Fist At Healthcare Reform Bill Passing

By James Fox on March 22, 2010, 8:49 am

Sunday night the long awaited and controversial health care reform bill, expected by all sides to radically transform health insurance in the United States, was voted on by the House of Representatives. Republicans, including House Minority Leader John Boehner from Ohio, were outraged, citing what they referred to as backroom deals and a process which was not transparent.

Outrage Galore

Late Sunday night Boehner was screaming “hell no you can’t” in response to the claim that it would be wrong to state that the bill was the result of back room deals. Pelosi, in response, quoted the Declaration of Independence and predicted that the bill, once passed, would ensure that people with pre-existing conditions could find health insurance.

Meanwhile, outside the Capitol, conservative “Tea Party” protesters rallied, waving flags and chanting “Kill the bill!” Some even found their way inside and at one point disrupted the House of Representatives meeting. Passed by the House, the bill will become law after being signed by President Obama, and become a landmark victory for both the current administration and the Democratic party. 216 votes were needed for the bill to pass, and Democrats claimed they existed, as a result of an executive order from the President explicitly banning the use of federal funds to provide abortions.

Congressman Stupak

Representative Bart Stupak, one of several House members of the Democratic party previously opposed to the bill because of his pro-life beliefs, said “This bill is going to go through,” after announcing the agreement reached between pro-life groups the Obama administration. “We are well past 216″ he added before the Sunday night debate. While Democrats were confident the necessary 216 votes were there, each and every Republican representative in the House swore to vote “no” and followed through with the promise.

Congratulations USA! As a Canadian I can say without hesitation, you are being brainwashed into believing healthcare will harm your country. It WILL NOT, in fact you will come to realize healthcare should be a basic right of all people, not just the rich. It has nothing to do with ilegal imigrants. There are other ways to resolve that issue. The people who are sceaming the loudest against healthcare are those who are reaping huge profit from investments in hospitals and your insurance companies and of coarse, your doctors who charge huge fees for services. In Canada, our government provides healthcare insurance, mine cost $84. per month. Hospitals are oowned and funded by government. Doctor fees are regulated by government. There are no starving doctors, quite the opposite. Everyone has equal rights under our system. No que jumping because of being wealthy.
No I am not a socialist but I do believe all persons are entitled to certain basic rights.

Here’s what tea party protestors can do to show that they are solidly against government sponsored healthcare.
    1. Any tea party protestor who is getting medicare benefits should renounce their government paid for health care coverage
    2. Any veteran tea party protestor should stop using the VA facilities and instead sign up for health care with a private for profit health care provider
    3. Any state or federal worker (including congressmen) should go out into the private market and buy their own health care policy like millions of Americans instead of having the taxpayer pick up 70% of their premiums.

Then I think we will have gone a long way to proving that we REALLY DO BELIEVE THAT GOVERNMENT SPONSORED HEALTH CARE IS BAD.

I have great respect for people who practice what they preach…and NO respect for those who don’t

So sad to see so many with such little regard for fellow human beings. No wonder the USA is hated so badly by the rest of the world. You are indeed pathetic people.
