Jobs Lost To Outsourcing, Economy Lost To Imports
By Victor Hatley on August 28, 2010, 9:03 amAmerica is no longer an industrial society. If manufacturing is shown to rise through the Philadelphia index or other indices, it is something that has a minimal impact on our society. You can see this when you look into your refrigerator and see it is an LG product from Korea manufactured in Mexico. Walk into Wal-mart and see the customers stepping over each other for Chinese manufactured bargains.
Outsourcing Cannot Be Reversed
The Outsourcing has taken on a life of its own. Companies are not going to return. However, they may move from China to the Philippines for cheaper slave labor. We are a consuming society as opposed to a manufacturing society. Our creditors are the Chinese, Japanese and a few other lenders. Our investors put their money into foreign markets and currencies. Even cars made here are to a great extent foreign, with the money heading to the home offices abroad.
A reversal of this trend cannot be enticed by tax cuts or punishments. After all, if these items did not come in, we do not manufacture them to pick up the slack. Without apparel imports we would walk around naked. This is the bitter truth that Democrats cannot accept, even after one of their own opened the floodgates. This person was Bill Clinton with his Free Trade agenda.
Save Your Money
Save as much as you can because we are moving down as an economy while countries such as China are moving up. Do not get caught with payments on credit cards that will inevitably bankrupt you. This is the new AmeriKa, yes with a K denoting a change that will not be reversed. Gold and silver are good to have in reserve. Make sure you have a good supply of rice and beans, in a worst case scenario beans are an excellent source of life-sustaining protein.
