John Gotti Jr:No More Mob Life After Prison Release
By Victor Hatley on April 11, 2010, 6:01 pmAfter the announcement of the mistrial on December 1st, there has been surprisingly little heard from John Gotti Jr. He recently agreed to an extended television interview wherein he attempted to explain his life before and after his affiliation with the crime organizations. Here is a short history and some of what he had to say.
First a short history
John was born on February 14 1964 and raised in the Queens, in N.Y. and attended a military academy (N.Y. Military Academy.) After graduation he ran a trucking company, and married Kimberly Albanese, a family associates daughter. He was “made” in 1988, and became a mafia “captain” in 1990. After receiving a life sentence in 1992 his father reportedly made him the boss with an advisory committee of captains. It’s believed that he relayed orders for his father in prison.
His first charges stemmed from a search of one of his properties in 1997, but in 1999 he plead guilty to racketeering, bribery, extortion, fraud and gambling. He received 77 months for these convictions and was released in 2005. Just months before his release though, he was charged with 11 counts of racketeering in which 2 associates delivered testimony against him. While he did admit to involvement in the Gambino crime family, he claimed he left that legacy in 1999 with his convictions. Three juries were deadlocked in these cases. In the December 1st mistrial he was charged for a drug trafficking ring and murder conspiracy, jurors said the witness wasn’t credible.
In His Interview
In his interview he talks about growing up in a mob family and when he got “made.” He says (about being made) that his father was as proud as any father that had a son make the varsity. When he discussed the decision to leave the family though, he said his father had talked him out of leaving, but he changed his mind at the last minute , “I left the house that morning…and I saw my wife and I saw my kids…and I says ‘I got to try to end this.’”

Great interview! Touching…some would think he doesn’t deserve sympathy/empathy but at the end of the day, he is a man with a heart and family he loves. And a love for his father that you cannot deny! An amazing love…
Good story -would have been better if they let the lawyer Carnesi talk some more about how he beat the feds 4 times!

Looks like 60 Minutes, in giving Gotti the entire show, was a useful idiot for the MOB. Gotti will go back to trial, and hopefully, he’ll get convicted, and get the death penalty. His father is waiting for him in Hell….don’t keep him waiting too long…….
