Mike & Mike In The Morning Honored With Achievement Rings
By Audrey Howard on February 24, 2010, 2:32 pmTen years is a long period of time. Most marriages don’t last that long, and hardly anyone stays at a job for ten years anymore. Mike & Mike, ESPN’s popular morning show that airs of the radio and ESPN2 every morning celebrated its 10th anniversary this morning and Jostens, the leader in providing class and athletic accomplishment rings presented Mike & Mike with one-of-a-kind rings for their achievement.
Mike Greenberg
Greenberg is a Northwestern grad that started as a radio reporter in Chicago. He then worked various other broadcasting jobs in Chicago before becoming one of the first anchors at ESPN NEWS. He then teamed up with Mike Golic for a morning show that when it started aired in only four markets. He continues to appear on SportsCenter, and on other ESPN programs when he has time. A true broadcasting professional.
Mike Golic
Golic is the lovable teddy bear of the ESPN airways. The former Notre Dame great played seven seasons in the NFL as a defensive lineman. His most productive years were spent playing for the Philadelphia Eagles. He began doing some part-time broadcasting while still playing in the NFL. He joined ESPN to do Mike & Mike and to appear as an analyst on many of ESPN’s football shows. Golic is funny, and always lightens up the mood on Mike & Mike when the topics get too serious.
Jostens
Jostens was generous to present Mike and Mike with the anniversary rings. The rings are unique in that they have the Mike & Mike and ESPN radio logos along with the official red, white and black ESPN colors on them. In honor of ten years, there is an “X” on ring along with the show’s motto, “What makes them different makes them great”. Congratulations to Mike & Mike, and were all hoping for another ten years.
