Morgan Freeman Pockets Outstanding Actor Award In “Invictus” Film

The Red Carpet Event
This years the event attendees was a who’s who in the entertainment field, and the list was long. The shows hosts were Hill Harper and Anika Noni Rose with Carlos Santana, Wyclef Jean, and Keri Hilson kicking the event off with a remix of the Cuban National Anthem that brought the house to it’s feet.
Synopsis Of The Movie
Invictus tells the story of Nelson Mandella’s struggle to repair South Africa after apartheid was abolished. Using the South African rugby team to unite the people behind the team in an effort to create unity. In his first years as President, South Africa hosted the 1995 World Cup Championships, and the team then rallied on to win the 1995 World Cup Championships.
He Has Led A Long And Dignified Career
Freeman’s has had a long illustrious career receiving his first Tony award in 1978 for Best Performance by a featured actor in a play. Since then his work has propelled him into many awards, honors, and nominations, with this one being the most recent. He also has received honorary degrees, honorary alumnus positions, and Kennedy center awards.
Other Winners
Other award winners of the event are Chris Rock for the Documentaty “Good Hair,” Wyclef Jean was presented the Vanguard award by LL Cool J for his “Yele Haiti” charity, and former and current NAACP chairpersons, Julian Bond and Rosalyn Brock presented Tyler Perry with the Chairmans award. In the end “Precious” won a majority of the awards presented that night.
