Obama Now Wants New Government Agency On “Global Warming.”

One of President Barack Obama’s campaign promises was that he would devote a good portion of his administration’s attention to attempting to address climate change, and global warming. On Monday, Obama announced that in an effort to live up to that promise, he was ordering the creation of a new agency. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Climate Service will actually be a branch of the existing NOAA but will have its own director and specific agenda.

Climate Change We Can Believe In

This agency will be created despite the recent developments which have shown that at the very least the data that has been gathered that show incontrovertible evidence that climate change is happening, and that man is either directly behind it or is speeding it up has been called into question. There have been numerous emails from some of the top climate change laboratories in the world that seem to have shown that scientists are at the very least, not looking at data they’ve collected objectively.

There is also the fact that while this has been reported to have been the warmest decade on record, we’re currently suffering through one of the coldest winters in recent memory. Added to that fact is the realization that while 2000-2010 might have had warmer temps, the decade before that was relatively stagnant, making some wonder if the warming trend wasn’t more likely a natural occurrence.

Redundancy We Can Believe In

Is it possible that this is simply a way to pay lip service to a hot button liberal issue? Is it also possible that this is nothing more than a way to add more agencies and jobs to the federal government? The NOAA already studies weather patterns and climate change. They are the agency that told us this last decade was the warmest on record. President Obama is creating another agency to do a job that is already being done.
