Pepsico Plans

In a recent statement, Pepsico revealed that it plans to discontinue placing sugary products in the primary and secondary schools across the globe. They stated that their goal was to accomplish the task by the year 2012. “We have long advocated for school settings to be made as conducive as possible to promote health of students… (it) will serve as an important part of that mission, by expanding our offerings of low-calorie and nutritious beverages,” PepsiCo CEO said.

The company went on to further say that they will have their vendors, bottlers and third party people begin the planning as soon as possible. “We believe in commercial-free classrooms for children, and respect parent and school decisions around what beverages are made available during school hours.”
