Rep. Massa (D-NY) Resigns Under Pressure

House of Representatives Eric Massa, a Democrat from New York has just announced that he is resigning his post as a House member. But not before a firestorm of accusations me made about the Obama White House and leaders in Congress.

Accusations Of Being Forced Out

In a morning interview on radio station WKPQ Massa made statements that his own party is squeezing him out and that this deal was nothing more than a setup. He made the statement claiming that he has voted “no” on the Obama Healthcare Plan and that since then he has all but been threatened by members of his own party.

Pointing The Finger At A Few Members

On the talk show, he named White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer in particular as leading the pack to destroy him. He was quoted as saying, “Rahm Emanuel is son of the devil’s spawn,” he said. “He is an individual who would sell his mother to get a vote. He would strap his children to the front end of a steam locomotive.” In regards to Majority Leader Hoyer, “Steny Hoyer has never said a single word to me at all, never, not once,” Massa said. “Never before in the history of the House of Representatives has a sitting leader of the Democratic Party discussed allegations of House investigations publicly before findings of fact. Ever.”
