Stimulus Energy Solution: MN & Iowa Offering Appliance Rebate Program
By Audrey Howard on March 1, 2010, 11:44 amThe states of Minnesota and Iowa have come up with an interesting twist of taking the federal stimulus money putting it back in Americans pockets. What a perfect idea to do this instead of giving that money to Wall Street and big banks.
Great Incentives
In Minnesota, according the Minnesota Department of Commerce, you can get rebates for the following that will go into effect in March:
Refrigerators – $200
Clothes Washers – $200
Freezers -$100
Dishwashers – $150
Thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the program can have huge saving in electricity, carbon and water. The Minnesota program is called Trade In and Save Appliance Rebate program. This is the kind of thing that Americans are looking for.
Iowa Has Their Program
In Iowa, a similar program went into effect today. This will affect roughly 9000 citizens in that state. In this program people will save on new appliance and at the same time save on energy consumption. Just like the cash for clunker car program that ran out of money, this could be very good for stimulation the economy.
