Tea Party Movement And Sarah Palin Won’t Rule Out 2012 Election Bid
By Richard West on February 11, 2010, 11:45 amSarah Palin was big news at the first tea party convention in Nashville. As with everything else she does, the headline speaker made waves, this time with her statement that she would consider a run for President in 2012.
The Voice Of Reason: President Palin
In an interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace before her speech, Palin said she would consider a run “if I believe that that is the right thing to do for our country and for the Palin family.” She continued, “It would be absurd to not consider what it is that I can potentially do to help our country.” She didn’t want to close the door on something that could be a potential for her future. That said, she noted that there are many other candidates who are in a strong or stronger position than she is: “if they’re in a better position than I am in three years, I’ll support them.”
Sarah Palin still makes news, even after her unsuccessful Vice Presidential run and her resignation from the Alaska Governor’s office. She has written a best-selling book, established a political action committee, campaigned for conservative candidates, and become a Fox News contributor. At every turn, she’s fluffed up the feathers of the left and fired up the right.
Tea Party Divide
Palin’s statements came amidst the first ever tea party convention, sponsored by Tea Party Nation, which has been roundly criticized by other tea party groups. Palin even riled tea partiers themselves with her statement, “The Republican party would be really smart to start trying to absorb as much of the tea party movement as possible.” That’s provoked some tea partiers, many of whom are as hostile to the Republicans as to the Democrats. The tea party movement – committed to fiscal conservatism but plagued by rabid anti-Obama sentiment – displayed its internal divide at the convention, leaving analysts wondering where it goes. As for Palin, she’s not ruling anything out.

Although many rightly question her presidential qualifications, Palin is the great white hope of many conservatives in America. Her keynote speech at the inaugural National Tea Party Convention seemed more like a coronation than a convention. Despite appearances, Palin is a shrewd political operator and as George W Bush proved, you do not need to be able to pronounce the word “nuclear” to win the most powerful office in the world.
If the tea Party Movement wanted someone who would actually make the change they want happen. They would get behind Ron Paul for 2012. He is the only guy who knows whats going on and can fix it. The Federal Reserve is corrupt. America is paying a private company that is unconstitutional to print out money thats not based on anything. Thats is why our economy is awful. Unite the Tea party movement with Constitutionalist and liberaterians. Show the democants and the republicants there time of raping and pillaging the American people is over.
Does anyone remember ROSS PERIOT??? Are you still laughing at him?? You can stop laughing now. Give this Sarah Palin Gal a chance!! America isn’t in a laughing mood any longer.
– SARAH PALIN for Senator or President or something for crying out loud!!
I agree with you. However the public wants results without having to actually work for them. They just want to do whatever the T.V. tells them to, cast their vote and leave the dirty work to someone else so they can go on with their T.V. dinners and watch the simpsons.
