Toyota Won’t Divulge Black Box Technology Secrets On Recall Problems
By James Fox on March 7, 2010, 8:53 amToyota (NYSE:TM) Motor Company is scheduled tomorrow to rebuke the theory that something in their black box computer technology is malfunctioning. Since the government now owns GM (NYSE:GM) Toyota is not very likely to make anything inside black box a thing that becomes public knowledge.
Eager Competitors
Companies like Ford (NYSE:F) and Chrysler (NYSE:DCX) would love nothing more to see the black box technology opened up for their viewing pleasure. Toyota has repeatedly claimed that the floor mats are the root of the problem. One has to wonder how a floor mat could possibly be a problem where the vehicle accelerates and stays stuck in a position causing accidents.
Big 3 Tactics
In the meantime, the Big 3 are doing everything in their power to try and take advantage from a sales point of view of the problems of Toyota. General Motors recently announce that it will reopen a sizable amount of dealerships. We are now hearing the Congress may be pushing forward to pass legislation from pressure from the lobbyist group Auto Alliance in regards to some sorts of devices that prevent the cars from accelerating. Honda (NYSE:HMC) and Nissan (OTC: NSANY) are not part of any such pressure.

Well, what would that mean to the testimony before Senator Cantwell before Congress this week?

Crooks rarely tell how they robbed the bank, and Toyota rarely tells the truth, on second thought they never tell the truth. They won’t reveal the contents of the box because it would incriminate them.
Toyota is full of you know what. I’ll never buy a car from them, again!
I think Toyota is right not to disclose this. Does anyone know that all of the acceleration accidents happened to drivers in their 80s, 70s and a few late 60s? No young or middle age drivers? This is just a conspiracy by the big 3 to kill off competition. If you can’t win fairly, turn to FUD!
