Unemployment Extension Not Important – Senate Turns To Emissions Bill

By Richard West on July 14, 2010, 7:58 am

When the country is in a complete uproar over the unemployment extension and jobless issue, the United States Congress in now nonchalantly moving its narrow focus an emissions bill.

Senator Harry Reid

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid commented to journalists in a very vague way dodge the issue of whether the bill would have to do with cap-and-trade issues. Americans know that the cap-and-trade issue is nothing more than a way to tax America even further.

Month-Long Recess

In the same breath, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that the Senate would be leaving for a month-long recess as of August 6, 2010. Where is the urgency to deal with the issue of unemployment? This Congress is so unbelievably arrogant and ignorant to think that millions of Americans are watching the unemployment issue minute by minute.

Finance Committee

Senator Reid went on to say that the Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee would be benefiting from the result of the bill’s ability to curb utility commissions. You can bet that somehow the institute some kind of emission from the automobiles that Americans drive. Watch out America!

We hear you are telling long term 99er’s to go apply for welfare as you will not help us too. How can you do that to us? We just want extension too not welfare. that is is not helping us or the economy it is just your way of passing us off to someone else. All america is watching how you handle this issue and when you leave for vacation for a month this country will be failing its citizens who need help now. Your not addressing this is a slap on the face telling us loud and clear that you do not care about us and that you refuse to represent the people who voted you into your jobs.

Another top-notch “news article”. For those desiring actual news on this topic, please go to thehill.com for updates on the unemployment extension bill, especially the On the Money Blog, where they provide, you know, actual news instead of nonsense sentences strung together.

  3. marie says:

Well this doesn’t surprise me!! After all why would Starving Americans be there First Priority??? go save the rest of the world and Leave US behind, Slowly Loosing Everything We have worked for our entire life. Watching the So Called “American Dream” being rolled down the street while the Flat bed Truck carries our Car away that we have paid for for the last few years.. Oh Please Don’t forget out HOME that we raised our children in being foreclosed on!! Why should this matter to them ???

  4. repubthetic says:

!!!!!! REPUBS WILL BE OUT IN NOVEMBER !!!!!!

  5. marie says:

REMEMBER NOVEMBER…..REMEMBER NOVEMBER…..REMEMBER NOVEMBER… REMEMBER NOVEMBER !!!! them Bastards Need to know what this feels like !! Oh Please don’t harm the Ozone But American People can go hungry !!!

  6. marie says:

thanks John for the site thehill, but I don’t see one article addressing this, did I miss something ?

  7. K says:

They all need to go! In Nov, vote for ANYONE who is not an incumbent!! If you really want to know how our govt works, just watch C-Span for a day. It will turn your stomach. That is if you still have a house, a tv in the house & basic cable.

  8. Pam says:

John, please thehill.com hasn’t reported on the unemployment extension since April 12, 2010.

I’ve read that dems have too much pork in this bill from the republicans, and that the republicans are standing firm in order to keep the Bush tax cuts from expiring.

Them I read this is actually a stand alone bill.

Which is it? We do know that corporate America is sitting on trillions of dollars refusing to hire. What makes any of you think an extension of tax cuts will entice them to do so? They’ll just pocket the cash which will result in continued unemployment. An ever growing population of the new homeless.

Thanks Congress, you all deserve a nobel peace prize!

  9. PJ says:

They wont have to worry about emissions for long, because everyone out of work with no unemployment benefits has no money to put gas in their vehicles now to even go look for work. Shame on you Senators that are blocking the extensions, how heartless and callous you are to the great Americans that worked and desperately tried to keep their homes and families together. Now look what you have done, millions more homes will be foreclosed on and people will be out in the streets. Is this how you thank the taxpayers that pay your check? go apply for welfare? What about the ones that don’t have children and are unemployed? They cant even file for welfare. But those very Senators that are blocking this bill have no problem cashing their check which is supported by the very taxpayers they are turning their backs on, and walking into their rich homes for a lavish meal every night.

  10. Brent says:

I read an article this morning stating President Obama says he is certain the extension will pass next week. They are spinning it like it is because our President is pressing the Senate. Now that they are replacing Senator Byrd’s seat in the senate Friday which will give them their 60 needed votes to pass, Obama will step in and take credit for the passing of this bill. Welcome to business as usual in Washington!!

  11. Sharon says:

The senators are very selfish and only care about themselves to HELL with the people that vote for them. They might think about it in November when they are not voted for.

  12. Jay Mac says:

The President can, and should, deny these little children their month long “recess” until their work is done. Things are out of control in our country and Congress is at the wheel. They just had over a week off on top of a week in May after Memorial Day. Now they want a whole month off when things are like they are? Disgusting and disgraceful.
Senators against UI love to call the unemployed lazy. This from people who make $150K a year with unreal medical benefits who will have had 6 weeks vacation in the last 90 days. Lazy indeed.

  13. from Florida says:

My husband lost his job March 1st. His 6 months of unemployment runs out Aug. 31st. He has not received any extension. He applies for jobs everyday and he is 54 years old. He applies for jobs that are less than 1/2 of what he used to make. No one calls him back. when he puts the year he graduated college I think that dooms him. There are no jobs to get. Do you want us all on the streets? I think it is reasonable to get atleast 1 year of unemployment during this time. 6 months has not been enough time for him to find a job. My salary does not cover the bills. How can come people get 99 weeks and my husband only get 6 months of unemployment. My husband is Republican. I guess he will change to be Democrat this November.

  14. CS says:

I cannot believe this is happening to all of us in the GREAT USA!!! I am 56 with NO JOB AND NO INSURANCE!! Make those who voted against this extension walk in our shoes!!!

  15. Lou says:

I am really wondering why we need any congress people at all. Why pay 535 of them those huge salaries, their different medical program, and their retirement program. The way I see it is, they have 3 choices, pass the extension bill, create jobs, OR get the Hell out of the way and let the free enterprise system of capitalism work and we will create our own jobs. This country was built on that .. PERIOD.

  16. stephen frary says:

I have been working since I was 13 and I’m 60 now and this is how were treated sending all the manufacturing jobs to overseas Nice. I think we should walk on Washington August 1 August 6 they leave for a month long shut down If they don’t Pass the extension and help us out or we will be known as the SOILENT GREEN GENERATION. No money No Benifits No Meds (and you know with us older Americans no meds means we will die earlier )So that means we die erlier and then they don’t have to pay the bebefits Hey is that a win win for the government and when we don’t have the money to bury us maybe the govenment can change the laws so we can donate our bodies to the pet industry to be growned up for pet food for the rich. I am really discusted in our govnment. Maybe time to shake it up thanks for the rant

  17. Lm says:

I agree completely. Those politicians who voted against unemployment extentions, and cobra insurance extention should be ashamed of themselves. I don’t get to look forward to going to work everyday, since I have no job. But, I am looking forward to November and voting against these same politicians that are voting against the people who put them in office, which still gives them a job and a paycheck, and keeps them from having their basic needs met. We, the unemployed want to work, no matter what the wealthy politicians may say, or those who have no clue what it really means to a family without a job to take care of themselves. November will be here eventually. If I don’t have gas to put in my car, I will walk to the voting booth.

  18. Judy says:

I agree with all the above comments. We cannot wait till next week, we need it now. Right now people are being evicted have no food, and the children and grandchildren are already going homeless and hungry. I would love to work 2 jobs if I could even get one would be a miracle. I am 55 and have worked since I was 15, paid my taxes, now I cannot even get a break. OMG.

  19. Scott Keefe says:

I am a lifelong Republican, and have been employed for the last 18 years. After what the Republicans have done I will NEVER vote for another Republican again PERIOD. If the democrats make this UI bill pass soon and save my house and my 4 kids then I will give them my vote this November because I have been betrayed and stabbed in the back by the GOP.
BTW, I can’t find an unemployed Republican (there are lots of them too) who doesn’t have similar feeling right now.
    Go to hell GOP!

  20. john clark says:

Will you people quit bothering them. They don’t have a mortgage on their home. And they have plenty of money coming in from special interest groups and kickbacks not to mention those big paychecks they get from us.They don’t have time to worry about us.With only three weeks left before summer recess they have to take care of all those that contributed big to their campains. And if you don’t quit sending all those e-mails and faxes they will have to hire more people to answer them. It’s such a bother they have more important things to worry about.

  21. Jeni says:

I guess it is easy to vote “no” on something that really does not directly affect you at the present time. I am not sure how we are supposed to survive. No extension, so I can pay my bills. Just bought a home in Feb 2009, did the tax credit, and my return has been gone since 2/19/10…and still have not received that. I am less than a 1/2 step away of losing everything. I think this is so WRONG no matter how you slice it.

  22. Tristan says:

I’m affected by family members and some friends that are unemployed and conveying to me how discouraged they are on not finding work, since there aren’t many jobs in Ct and the rest of the country. Further more few hear back from potential employers after months of sending resumes and actively seeking employment.
Unemployment is almost up to 10% Congress needs to step up ASAP and pass the bill for all of the unemployed who have paid into the system!! A tier 5 has to be included without a doubt; it would be unfair to leave these people out during a severely depressed economy. I can not believe these incompetent, lazy, disorganized, out of touch senators are having such difficulty in deciding on this major crisis, and aren’t they threatened by the November elections? This is a travesty and embarrassment to what I though America stood for!!

  23. Eric says:

Lazy Try living in south east Michigan for a year and see if you can find any employment much less a job that can pay for basic living expenses.I probably still wont have a job in November so I wont be to lazy to walk to the library and cast my vote.

  24. Candace says:

Wow when my father saw obama on tv the first time he said he will be our next president, and then proceeded to say watch he will screw us up so much that nothing will be the same. I thought oh your just old and crazy but now it’s all coming true. Now I have babies to take care of and I’m not real sure how to anymore. Maybe if the Senators would give up their over priced hookers for a year then we would have the money to help pay for us LAZY Americans! Everyone email your senators, president, and come election time vote them all out!!!!!!!

  25. ethel says:

Take Out the Trash Day Nov. 2, 2010

    Vote out the Republican’ts

  26. kristy43551 says:

What else can we expect congress to do at this point but to move on. Until the Senate has enough votes or the republicans come to their senses the extension will not happen. I’m in dire need of more support my finances have gone form middle class american to wondering if things don’t change soon I will be in a hotel or on teh street with my kids.

    I think statements like
“When the country is in a complete uproar over the unemployment extension and jobless issue, the United States Congress in now nonchalantly moving its narrow focus an emissions bill”. are just put out there to stir the pot and make everyone mad at both parties when in fact the stament should of said

When the country is in a complete uproar over the unemployment extension and jobless issue, the Repuplican party has used their leverage to move on to an emissions bill”.

THAT’S WHAT SHOULD OF BEEN SAID

    Kristy

  27. Kevin says:

I am extremely disappointed with the Senate…this country has bailed out failed banks, automobile manufacturers, and airlines to the tune of billions of dollars…but when the common person needs help…they go on vacation…
“WE THE PEOPLE” WILL NOT FORGET THIS…

  28. mike maloney says:

The Senate is pushing the unemployment issue aside and is now focusing instead on another bill which is more important than the unemployment extension? Well, what can you expect from a bunch of scumbags?

  29. MAC says:

I am a 32 yr old military vet. That has always loved, supported, and backed this ONCE Great Nation. I used to have the HIGHEST respect for this country and everything it stood for. But now like many other Americans that we where supposed to protect and provide for, I too feel pushed aside as if I was a peasant and my service to this country means nothing. Everyday I sit and watch my bills pile up, get letters from the mortgage company saying i’m about to be in forclosure, and about to loose my house. I have never asked anyone for anything, never been on anytype of assistance and yet after 6 months of being laid off of work through no fault of my own after 6 yrs on the job, I am about to loose everything. Have been well trained in the Army air assult and airborn school and although I know how to take care of myslef, It doesnt provide food for every hungary American Family out there suffering while you hot shots in your fancy suits and offices get to sit back and make things even worse. You can guaratee that I will VOTE come NOVEMBER and I will no longer vote all Republican like I have for the last 14yrs, but will only vote for those who are not in office right now whether they are Republican or not. I think your RIGHT AMERICA IT TIME FOR A CHANGE. LETS VOTE FOR EVERYONE THAT IS NOT IN OFFICE NOW AND START OVER. THESE PEOPLE IN OFFICE SURE DONT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE INTRUSTED IN THEM AND VOTED THEM IN OFFICE. OUR “ONCE” GREAT GOVERNMENT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE AND THE PEOPLE WANT THIS UNEMPLOYMENT PASSED. NOW, LETS NOT SUFFER ANY LONGER

  30. CS says:

In 1993 the comedy-drama “Dave” hit the movie theaters. The movie stars Kevin Kline as an imposter presisdent with common sense ideas to cut wasteful spending. Our leaders should watch this and learn something.

  31. Debbie says:

This makes me sick! These idiots should have voted first thing Monday morning and made it pass! It is already long over due! They really don’t care about the American people at all!

  32. Paul Bland says:

They are all talk and no action. This is more like a 1930s style depression and they know it. 10% unemployment?!!–it is more like 15-25% overall and now this-this ridiculous issue with extending unemployment benefits that has dragged on all summer, week after week after week –with no comment from our President-no action, not really. They (these millionaire US Senators and decision-makers in the White House are beyond belief. Sold-out, dishonest wealthy lawyers who care nothing for the American people because they dare not act or lose their corporate sponsors. PROTEST AGAINST THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT.THEY NO LONGER REPRESENT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

  33. Dennis says:

I am 53 and have been out of work for 15 months I have put out over 450 resumes. My safety net is gone, I have $20 to my name until the extension is passed. Please stop playing with my life. We are hurting out here. Maybe the Senators should go with out for a while. JUST REMEMBER COME ELECTION DAY WE WILL NOT FORGET OR FORGIVE!!!!

  34. DPW says:

Time to bring in the INDEPENDENTS!! Enough of the Democrats & Republicans, obviously they don’t care about the “Middle Class” Americans!

    ————-

I spoke w/Senator Harry Reid’s office, it seems Senator Reid controls the calendar for that Congress uses to schedule votes on pending legislation. I had called to ask
Senator Reid to please push the date for the vote to this week due seeing an article
that stated the vote would be Monday, July 19th and the long term unemployed
(myself being one of them) are struggling due to having our income lifeline cut
    off.

Per the office representative I spoke with – THERE IS NO SCHEDULED VOTE FOR THE EXTENSION OF UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 19th!

Senator Reid’s WA office number is not “published” you can reach him by contacting the Senate Operator at 202.224.3121 and asking for the office of Senator Reid.

When I asked the receptionist on how Senator Reid expected those of us who have no income due to being cut off from unemployment to survive – her response was APPLY FOR STATE WELFARE!

Nice? These are the kind of people we have running our country?

  35. Melissa says:

Just another example of “Social Darwinism” in our country. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Some fat cat with some emmission control plan or device is more important that the unemployed. Some of us (without children) aren’t eligible for welfare or social programs. We are left out in the cold.

  36. WasRippedOff says:

The Republicans doesn’t care about our votes; what they are doing is just keep spreading false propaganda on the internet so they don’t have to be accountable at all to get votes they need. The comment section of yahoo news(foxnews); is what they use to spread false propaganda and to perverse the views of as much people as they can. Meaning that they’ll stay in office and be accountable to nobody and nothing. The only way to deal with this is fight fire with fire; complain, tear them a new one online, do what they do, but defend Obama. Middle class people may not notice this, but a war has been declared on you heads, on our heads, and on the heads of ALL middle class. FIGHT FOR YOUR LIVES, FIGHT WITH ALL YOU GOT IS OUR ONLY OPTION.

IS THERE NOT ANYTHING WE CAN DO BEFORE NOV.2? WE NEED IDEAS NOW,WAITING TILL THEN IS A LONG WAY AWAY,I REALLY DON’T THINK I CAN STRETCH MY $4.00 CHECK THIS WEEK..I’M 51 AND I DON’T THINK MUHAMMAD,MING LI,OR JUAN WILL HIRE ME,I GUESS I COULD GO TO HAITI,BUT NO THATS VOLUNTEERS..I COULD COMMIT A CRIME AND WOULD BE GUARANTEED FOOD,HOUSING,MEDICAL(SOMETHING I HAVE’NT HAD IN YEARS)THAT IS THE BEST OPTION I’VE HAD SINCE BEING LAID OFF,WELL HAVE TO GO AND THINK THIS OFFER OVER IT IS TEMPTING! LOL

  39. Aaron W says:

The only real power any American has is the right to vote, even that comes into question when you have recounts of ballots and poor election polls. We as Americans have to stick together for what is right, always believe that
no matter what happens this is still a great country with great people no matter who they are or represent. There is too much apathy going on when things seem well but really are not, and we need to wake up and set an example for our future Americans. Nothing is ever going to be perfect hence we are human, but everything that is human is being cast aside for selfish gain and power. We need to harness that power and vote.

  40. Ralph says:

What’s the use of voting in November doesn’t change policies just faces. We will get revenge in November, and go about our marry way soon forgetting all the major events crushing our country to pieces. The very fiber of this UNITED STATES have been destroyed by our government leaders as we stand idly by watching.

America better wake up to the monstrosities unfolding before us on a frequent bases.

  41. BB says:

I have always voted Republican, but that will change in November. I signed up for food stamps last week since my unemployment is frozen along with so many others. I don’t know how they sleep at night. Our needs should be on their minds to the point that it makes them almost crazy. I just don’t get how they think or act, but they will know how we think and act in November!! We want to work!!!!

  42. paul piwonka says:

Why is anybody suprised? The Republicans are good at one thing, lieing. The are as addicted to power as hitler. They will take this country down to get their way. The truly do want Obama to fail and if that means starving the american people out of house and home so be it.They want power back. They could care less about the “common” man or woman. They are experts at using god to get the fearful’s votes. I was raised in a wealthy Republican family, I know how these people think. God takes care of them because they are so worthy. So good, all the while drinkin their poison and taking there pills to keep out the concious. I will tell you this, and it may not being you any comfort in your time of need. These people put on a good show, but behind the doors of illusions they are about the most miesable humans alive. I have know all types. Rich and poor, I would choose the company of the poor over the rich any day. I am embarrassed of my own family and have seen the result of their ways, I promise you you do not want there lives. They would be better off throwing all the land, money and gold they have in a good charity and working at a soup counter but they could never do that, they are a slave to there need for everything. I promise you stay strong, stay alive, stay principled and you will survive, and you will gain from this experence, more than they can ever imagine. The bill will pass, in time. Hold On.

  43. VEE H. says:

THIS IS THE KIND OF THING THAT MAKES U LOSE FAITH IN POLITICIANS EVEN THE GOOD ONES WHO WANTS TO VOTE FOR ANY OF THEM THIS IS JUST CRUEL HOW DO THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT THEY CANT BE HUMAN!

  44. Joseph Castro says:

Not sure how these people in Washington have enough money to fund a pointless ongoing war in the middle-east, can afford to take week long paid vacations at the expense of the taxpayers, and can spend millions upon billions of tax payer dollars to clear up the gulf…whats the 20 billion dollar bp shakedown going to? Yet turn their heads when the American people have needed them most in over 50 years to pass an unemployment extension you all created. All those republican senators who shoot down bills like this are non-american and should move to Iran to spread your policy.

i wonder wat is going to happen to all these
clueless clowns senators that are in office now when they start to go out in public to get re elected in november. it wont be good, they are so clueless they dont realize. THEY ALL MUST GO, WE MUST VOTE EVERYONE OUT AND START OVER. VOTE FOR INDEPENDENT OR NON MILLIONARES PERIOD!!!!!!

  47. Leon says:

The most disturbing side of this is the Republican Senators are treating the extension as if it’s welfare. Monies were withheld from paychecks to pay for unemployment insurance. I can no longer vote for a party that’s so insensitive to the needs of their constituents. How can you support the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy which would add billions to the deficit…but not support the unemployed that are truly hurting. November can’t get here fast enough. We won’t forget!

  48. middle class no more says:

God please, either save us or blow up the planet, i have no problem dying as long as the unjust get their due and burn in hell.

  49. tom grahovac says:

As I have said over and over again, it is the publics fault ! we put these people in office.
Limit al congressmen and senators to two terms – thats it, just like the President and Vice President.

  50. Ralph says:

Well, they just gave 400 million to the Palestinians, and considering approval on building a Muslim mosque in NY at ground zero. Yep, it’s true at the world trade center cite. Anything surprising these days? Those who wonder where politicians hearts are I’ll clear that up for you. They have no heart.

  51. paul piwonka says:

tom i agree –get them out asap–but hell there would be noting but politics all the time, we would have to give up important things like the comedy shows, because therich would buy all the air-time to try and get elected, but come to think of it this mite be better comedy. hell maybe we should just burn them out of there plush offices and try and re-awake Sadamn H. and ask him to make a reality show with george b. The theme could be of him angryly jet-slapping the shit out of george b, and chenney.

  52. middle class no more says:

tom that is why we have to start over, get all these idiots out dems and republicans, they continue to talk about job creation to, but will not do anything about the outsourcing of jobs, nothing else will work!!!! A BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY IN MY AREA, merge with another company and they were outsourcing jobs like crazy, the merge could not go through unless the government approved it and they did, while they continued to outsource.

  53. john says:

I am a veteran who is out of work and money.I have a family of 5.I have applied for over 100 jobs and not one call back.Maybe its because i am 45 years old and companies are hiring younger people. What ever the case i need help!!Our government is more concerned helping other countries than there own.Everbody should be able to get 99 weeks, after that its on us to go to support our families. We the people need to take our country back and stand united and have a protest march in dc against our governing body to show them WE WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS CRAP THEY ARE DOING ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  54. john says:

If your senator in your state as voted against extension call there office with floods of calls telling them november is coming you
wont forget what they are doing to the american people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  55. harlod smith says:

You want BP to make payments to the crybabies affected by the Gulf oil disaster? Who will reimburse me for the livlihood I lost because of layoffs due to the economic crisis. Wall Street? The Us senate? Where do the rest of us Americans who have had our livlihoods displaced because of shoddy business practices (much like the shoddy oil drilling practices)file a claim? And….whose doors do we knock on for unemployment insurance assistance? Maybe all those who have had benefits stopped should knock down, not knock on, some of the US senators front doors. Then we could rip off their refrigerator doors and help ourselves to some of the food that these overweight angry old men are hoarding for their well off families !!!! If they’re interested in emmissions maybe a group of unemployed vigilantes should cut off their catalytic converters, sell them, and share the monies for life sustaining necessities. These conservative congenital idiots are treading on thin ice.

  56. Pat in NJ says:

Those greedy bastards didn’t put off the vote to raise their salaries! How dare they keep doing this to us! It’s because of them that the economy is in the shape it’s in!
They say that 15 million Americans are unemployed…I’ve read that it’s actually more like 30 million! We all have families to take care as well as ourselves! This is unacceptable!

SHAME ON THEM…SHAME ON THE PRESIDENT!!!!

ADD A TIER 5 AND PASS THE DAMN BILL ALREADY!!!

  57. Dan says:

The Democrats put us in this situation and the Republicans are keeping us there! Well, it’s a good thing that they all went on vacation and are relaxing in their air conditioned offices. Meanwhile, most Americans are without food and homes. Way to go Congress!! Enjoy your raises and the money you are stealing from us.

  58. john says:

At least know who to blame a lot of You are complaining about Obama im Republican and even I have to acknowledge that The President and all the dems are giving there full support.

Well my phone is no longer in service as of this morning. The low fuel light is on in my car. I not only have no way to hear form prospective employers, but no way to get to my first day of work if they COULD reach me.
But the 19th doesn’t seem like a lifetime away to the fat cats in their nice offices.

I’M NOT LAZY. I’ve worked for 35 years straight never using unemployment. Less than a year from my job loss my unemployment benefits are stopped. There’s millions of people just like me. This country has spent over a TRILLION dollars for the Afhgan / Iraq wars. Stop spending money on wars, bring our troops home. Where’s the priority with this senate. THE WAR IS AT HOME, JOBS!!!!

  68. Jane says:

Il just love the comment from the receptionist at Senator Reids office. Apply for state welfare!!! If you have a spouse that is working, you aren’t eligible for any assistance at all!! I have been unemployed for 20 months and benefits have been cut. Although my husband is working, it’s still not enough to pay all of our bills. We now have to pick and choose what gets paid and what doesn’t. Soon we will be so far behind that we will never catch up. Mortgage is not getting paid this month. So it begins… all we have worked for will soon be gone. Have a nice vacation congress while you let us have more sleepless nights and only wonder what it would be like to have a vacation and be able to relax and have some enjoyment in life like we deserve!!!God bless all of you that are struggling and losing all that you have worked for. My heart breaks for us all! This is so unfair and heartless.

Scott Keefe, I love your comment from a Republican point of view. (see below) Maybe if more Republicans were unemployed and living on unemployment (which is practically minimum wage) in spite of all the countless job applications we do — they’d have more compassion. They’d know that this is a time in our economomic history unlike any in recent memory. And in dire situations, hard choices must be made. Do they want us all to go on welfare. How is that gonna save money? Shall we turn to a life of crime? Seems that those are the only jobs that are paying and available. What goes around comes around. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. Do they not read the polls so see that the majority of American are more concerned with helping the unemployed and deficit reduction? Those are your voters, kids. Get a clue.

    Typo. I meant to say:
